This is a question I wished people would ask more often, after all to invest your valuable time and income is a significant step. My skills don’t include selling, and each time I try it reminds me of this fact. What’s more important in my eyes is to be sincere, honest and share the passion of why we do what we do.
One of the fundamental opportunities a retreat provides is the change of environment it gives you. This window of opportunity removes the familiar, meaning you automatically pay more attention to your new surroundings and are therefore more open to learning. So to us it seems a waste of an opportunity if all you are getting is a yoga session or workout to then lay by a pool. The first thing you get on our retreat is a schedule aimed at optimising your ability to learn in this new environment.
If you’re like us, then there are still areas in your life you are working on to improve. Our personal belief & professional philosophy is that health & wellbeing encompasses the physical, emotional, energetic and spiritual components. Miss one of these and complete health & wellbeing are compromised. So our retreats are designed to develop these areas on an individual basis.
After 16 years as a performance coach in Olympic sport, the key take home has been the mind & body are inextricably linked. In our western culture this mind/body connection has typically been lost, resulting in a significantly limited ability to tune into intuition & instinct. An over active mind tries to make up for this, leading to an internal world full of negative chatter and doubt. We over think decisions rather than tuning into our highly intuitive and intelligent senses. Put this together with the rise of focus on high intensity exercise, coffee culture & 60 hour weeks, and you have a recipe for chronic levels of stress.
Slow drip of cortisol priming the body to be ready to take action against a threat. Rather than this threat being the genuine threats of old like big cats, drought & famine, our threats our sprouted from our biological system that doesn’t know how to turn off from this technological world. Chronic stress is now linked to the big diseases that plague this world - including cancer.
We teach you through the purposeful use of breath, through mindful movement and through play how to tune into your body again. You not only feel the relief & joy this gives you, you also learn that you can build a daily practice that fits into even the busiest of lifestyles.
At the heart of our Human Being experience sits our ability to feel emotion. And these emotions are both joyful & painful. With pain comes emotional scars that show in ways such as blame, resentment & anger. We get hijacked by emotions on a daily basis, living in a state of victimhood waiting for someone or something to heal our hurt.
This drama will continue to play out in the same old way, until we take control and shift toward what we want. It is this shift in mindset that we teach you, putting you in a place of empowerment in your own life. We believe life happens for us, not to us. Mindset is everything, therefore we teach you how to move into a place of growth & empowerment so you stop getting hijacked by old emotion. Instead you interact with your world from a place of leadership, taking control of you, leading to fulfilling relationships at home & at work.
We are physical, emotional & energetic beings. Yet our energetic imprints go unnoticed in the western model of health. The Luminous Energy Field (LEF) — also called the light body, halo or aura — is a matrix that envelops and informs the physical structure of all living beings, and organises the body the same way that iron filings are organised by a magnet.
The LEF is in continual flow: As well as flowing clockwise around the body there is also a vertical flow up and down through the spinal cord and down into the earth, reentering the body through the feet. The LEF contains a template of how we live, how we age, how we heal, and how we might die.
This template is based on an “archive” of all of our personal and ancestral memories, early-life trauma and wounds from former lifetimes. These records or imprints are stored in full colour and intensity of emotion. Imprints in the LEF predispose us to follow certain pathways in life; they orchestrate incidents, experiences, and the people we attract to ourselves. They are like dormant computer programs that when activated compel us toward behaviours, relationships, accidents, and illnesses that parody the initial wounding: Our personal history repeats itself. Cutting-edge neuroscience is now confirming what shamans have known all along. Thanks to neuroplasticity — the brain’s ability to organise itself into higher order neuro-circuitry — we can create psychosomatic health.
We have teamed up specifically with Melany because her skills in this area are second to none. And we know, both Anna and I have experienced first hand the benefits of what Melany has to offer.
We are beings that require connection. This is what spirituality is to us without the need to attach oneself to one tradition over another. Therefore the connection we facilitate begins with the groups that attend our retreats. The use of transpersonal breath work sessions add the depth to this spiritual component. This is a safe & sacred breath work practice using music and guided meditation, that supports the innate wisdom of the body to heal.
We celebrate our human potential of transformation, healing and awakening through our own breath. We use music and a transpersonal aligned breath work practice to enter an inner world of the imagination and somatic experience, leading to deep transformation, physical, emotional and spiritual healing, and encounters with the numinous and divine. The sessions end with a confidential group discussion to help with integration of your experiences.
#7 Integration Support
We provide a platform for all guests of our retreats, to help with the integration of the tools that have been learnt. The challenge often comes following big breakthroughs when you return back to your familiar environments. Weekly check ins via online video calls and an online community help with this process, that enables you to sustain the benefits you gain.
In all honesty, the only way to know the results of what we offer on our retreats is to experience it first hand. If you’re in a place where all you want to do is do HIIT training, a yoga practice and chill by the pool, then our retreats are not for you.
